Claire Hope is a UK based artist producing videos and performances which aspire to a form of realism, by producing an idealistically total view of life reaching across mediated cultural forms, social critique and the conventions of human interaction. Actors occupy familiar roles, social forms and environments, but their discourses, gestures and actions come from different sources across life and culture. The resultant hyperbole is satirical; a parody rooted in the abstractions of financial capitalism and mediated culture.

Complex Financial Instruments, 2008 was shown at the Black Maria, London, in Taking Place a British Artist's Film and Video Study Collection group screening on 25/2/13.
Claire showed A Determined Search beyond Romance as a video loop and a small collection of other artworks in the Wysing Arts Group exhibition Solid on Our Source Planet from 30/9/12 to 28/10/12.
2011 video, Sky High Quality and In Great Shape', was shown in a group screening of work by participants of the recent Wysing Arts Centre retreat.
Claire participated in the retreat on The Self at Wysing Arts Centre, developed with Mark Titchner, from the 28-31 May 2012.
